on prayer

I think it’s time for me to start meditation again.

Over random rainy lunchtime talks, I sit with soaking wet stripey socks and shorts recalling the happiness sitting silently in contemplation gave me.

Starting the mornings radiating loving kindness in the shuddery, juddery school bus at 6am used to make me feel quite zen indeed. But I think it was more than that.

It was transferring thoughts to people I’d not think about normally; the bus driver, the teachers at school, the girl from the first class who I didn’t like, the lady who sweeps fallen leaves and debris off the roads.

A reminder that life is more than just me.

I’ve been quite regular with the blogging as of late, yes?

Reflects in my work…or current lack thereof.

  1. ish said,

Praying is nice. But praying is also largely misunderstood. At least in my previous (damn, I still can’t believe that I’m out of school and off to college!) school, prayer was not done from the heart. We were taught a prayer, which we mugged up and blurted out every morning, without any feeling what so ever. I think prayer doesn’t have anything to do with religion, as is largely believed. I don’t think prayer needs to be some particular words. It’s more like a connection, and peace.

And yep, you’ve been regular lately, and that’s a good thing! :D

meldee: i believe it’s the process of the whole thing, the taking comfort in the ritual. i agree that it’s about the connection with the divine, whatever it is, and the peace you find within it :) wow ish, off to college! :D a new phase of life…heh i remember that stage all too well :) good times, good times.

thanks! i’ve also been regular….ly not doing work :P
